The Three Cainst
This is the story of the Castaño brothers. A family from the department of Antioquia made up of 12 children, of which only 4 of them survive. A family that lost their father by the hands of the guerrilla, unleashing a chain of vengeance, fury and hate that made Colombia’s lawful state tremble. The story stars the brothers Fidel, Carlos and Vicente, three men blinded by their desire to finish the guerrilla, so they created the biggest and most powerful private army financed by landlords, politicians and drug dealers, but at the end, they ended up dragging an entire nation to a war that destroyed everything, even their own family. The story of the Castaño brothers is an incredible story of love, falling out of love, violence, vengeance, ambition, lust and war, that shook Colombia’s recent history.

He is the noblest one in the Castaño clan, and also the one farther from the paths of evil and death. He tries to distance himself from the war environment that his family lives in and can even feel sympathy for the “spirit of the revolution” in its political sense. Manuel will stay close to the Castaño members that don’t arm themselves and has an idea of leading an honorable hard working life, but until the end of the story, he must carry his burden of being a Castaño Gil.
She is Rosa’s favorite. Her partner, confidant, and her shoulder to cry on. With a calm personality, since childhood she was raised under the premise that men are the ones that make the decisions and they are not to be questioned or contradicted. However, this woman of almost invisible character will suffer and incredible transformation and will get to know in her own skin the reasons to love and hate at the same time.
Is the youngest member of the Castaño family, but just like her brothers, she has a very strong character. She is set on imposing her ideas over whoever gets in her way. She is gorgeous, intelligent and a rebel. An event will forever scar her relationship with her brothers, and although her mother is always looking for a way to bring them back together, the youngest Castaño member doesn’t miss an opportunity to challenge them.
In spite of having given birth to some men who wrote one of the bloodiest chapter’s in Colombia’s history, Rosa Castaño is a woman whose looks and prayers can touch almost anyone. She is from Antioquia, dedicated to her home, her husband and her faith. In the rosaries she constantly prays, Rosa finds solace to go on, putting her family’s destiny in God’s hands, a family that, chooses to travel in the waters of hate, and ends up sinking in their deep currents.
He is the oldest one at the Castaño home. In him the delicate mannerisms of someone who lived in Europe and collected and traded with art, mix with those of a man capable of encouraging his family of taking up arms and forming a private army whose sole objective is revenge. When he was younger he used to negotiate with vehicles, but his determination ended up taking him to the highest spheres of society, accumulating money, with which he built a fortune for his time, reason why the family tragedy is ignited and why Fidel decides to go on a path of vengeance that made him lose his way. The same as his brother Carlos, he is obsessed with women’s looks.
He is a cold man, intelligent and calculating, who pauses when he speaks. His character is defined by his love of money. He is passionate about farming agricultural and botanical issues. He is mysterious, and with time he will show his strange personality, but he will never stop giving surprises, it doesn’t matter whether they are good or bad. The difference between him and his brothers is that he is always reluctant to the fact of wearing a military uniform, but it doesn’t mean it is contrary to his actions.
The day his family suffers a terrible tragedy, young Carlos leaves his innocence behind, to become the carrier of the hate the Castaño family carries. Even though at the beginning he is just a boy trying to make ends meet by doing chores around the farm, Carlos will be an outstanding student of carrying a grudge, faithfully following his brother Fidel’s orders, whom he admires but whom with he also has problems because of women. He is an obsessive man, with an inclination to fall in love, and a constant student of the conflict.
